Cookie policy

This site sets no cookies. It stores a theme preference and Repora analytics identifiers in your browser. Here is exactly what, and why.

The short version

This website doesn’t set any cookies. It stores a few small items in your browser’s local storage: your light or dark theme choice, and identifiers used by Repora, the analytics service we use to see which pages and links lead people to buy Cortex. None of it is used for advertising, and none of it follows you to other websites.

The Cortex app itself uses no analytics at all. See the privacy policy.

What we store in your browser

Name Where Set by What it’s for How long
cortex-theme localStorage cortexformac.com Remembers the light or dark theme you chose with the toggle. Only set if you use the toggle. Until you clear site data
_beacon_vid localStorage Repora A random visitor ID, such as v_k3j9x…, so repeat visits count as one visitor. It contains nothing about you. Until you clear site data
_beacon_sid, _beacon_last sessionStorage Repora A random session ID and the time of your last activity. A new session starts after 30 minutes of inactivity. Until you close the tab
_beacon_active sessionStorage Repora Time the page was actually visible, so background tabs don’t count as reading time. Until you close the tab
_beacon_uid sessionStorage Repora Not used on this site, because there are no user accounts. Until you close the tab
feedfast:voter-email localStorage FeedFast The email address you typed into the feedback form, so you don’t have to type it again. Only set if you send feedback with an email. Until you clear site data
feedfast:seen:cortex-for-mac localStorage FeedFast Which release notes you’ve already seen. Until you clear site data

Repora analytics

Repora (repora.ro) measures how the site is used. When you visit, it sends Repora’s server:

  • the pages you view, and how long each was visible,
  • the page that sent you here (the referrer) and any campaign tags in the link (utm_source, utm_medium and similar),
  • your screen width,
  • the random visitor and session IDs above,
  • a small number of events:
    • checkout_started: you clicked a Buy button, and how many licenses,
    • license_pack_selected: you picked a license pack on the pricing card,
    • download_requested: you submitted the download form. Your license key is not included,
    • faq_opened: you opened a question in the FAQ,
    • support_contact_click: you clicked our support email address.

Each page also includes a tiny invisible image from Repora that records only the page’s path. It counts visits from AI crawlers and other programs that don’t run JavaScript, and it stores nothing in your browser.

While a page is open, the tracker also sends a short “still here” signal every 15 to 30 seconds so we can see live visitors and time on page.

Like any request to a website, these requests reveal your IP address to Repora’s server. We don’t send your name, email address, license key or any other personal details to Repora.

FeedFast feedback

The Feedback link in the footer opens a form from FeedFast (feedfa.st), which runs our public feedback board. To show it, your browser loads FeedFast’s script and fetches the board from FeedFast’s server, which, like any request, reveals your IP address. What you type into the form, including an email address if you give one, is sent to FeedFast so we can read and answer it.

Revenue attribution

When you click Buy, your random visitor ID goes to Creem, our payment provider, with the checkout. After a purchase, Creem notifies Repora so we can see which page or campaign led to the sale. This links a purchase to the pages that visitor ID viewed on this site. We use it only to understand which parts of the site work.

How to opt out

  • Block it: any content blocker that blocks repora.ro stops all of the above. The site works exactly the same without it.
  • Clear it: clear this site’s data in your browser settings to delete the visitor ID. A new random one is created on your next visit unless Repora is blocked.
  • Theme only: the theme preference is set only if you use the toggle.

Other sites

  • Creem runs the checkout on its own domain and may set its own cookies there, under Creem’s policies.
  • Cloudflare hosts this site and processes standard request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
