Licensing

Moving to a new Mac

Your license belongs to you, not to a Mac. Free it on the old one and activate the new one.

Deactivate the old Mac
Open Cortex › Settings › License and choose Deactivate This Mac.

Activate the new Mac
Install Cortex on the new Mac and enter the same license key.

Forgot to deactivate?
If you try the key on a second Mac first, Cortex tells you which Mac has it and when that Mac was last used.

Lost or dead Mac
Email hello@cortexformac.com and we will free the license for you.

Requirements

macOS: macOS 15 Sequoia or later
Apple Silicon: Every feature, including Neural Engine and power data.
Intel: Supported, with fewer metrics: no Neural Engine and no power data.
Ask Cortex: macOS 26 and Apple Intelligence. Otherwise a built-in rule-based assistant answers.
Updates: Every future update is included, for life. Update policy
Refunds: Full refund within 14 days of purchase if your license key has not been activated. Activated keys can't be refunded. Refund policy
