Every future update to Cortex is included with your one-time purchase, for life.
The short version
Buy Cortex once and every future update is included, for life. That includes new features and major versions, not only bug fixes. There’s no subscription and no paid upgrade.
How updates arrive
Cortex checks for updates by itself. When a new version is available, it tells you, and you choose when to install it. You can also download the latest version at any time from the download page with your license key.
Every release is listed in the changelog.
The update check is one of the only two kinds of network request Cortex makes. See the privacy policy for what it sends.
Your license carries over
Updates use the license you already have. You don’t need a new key, and your data and 30 days of history stay where they are.
macOS requirements can change
Cortex currently needs macOS 15 Sequoia or later. A future version may need a newer version of macOS, for example to use new Apple Silicon features. If your Mac can’t run a new version, the version you have keeps working.
